The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppet

The book I read was The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppet by Tom Angleberger. This book is 208 pages long. Something you may know about Tom Angleberger is that he wrote the whole Origami Yoda series. My favorite part of this book is all of the origami because I think it’s funny

“That’s it! I’m calling your parents!” yelled Mrs.Rabbski. In this book the students at McQuarrie Middle School want to get rid of Funtime. Funtime is the educational program that the school uses to prepare for their state tests. To try and stop it they build an origami rebellion. The rebellion planned to fail the tests on purpose, until they had a meeting with Mrs.Rabbski, the principal. She told them that if they fail the tests they get expelled from the school. So after that, they come up with an idea to try and get a 68 on the tests, so the grade’s average move down. If it works, their will be no more of the miserable Funtime, but if it doesn’t they will still have to deal with it. Will the rebellion work, or will the students still have to put up with Funtime? Read The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppet to find out.

Bud Not Buddy

The book I read was Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis. This book has 245 pages. Another book by Christopher Paul Curtis isĀ The Watsons Go to Birmingham. My Favorite part of this book was, “Bud Caldwell’s Rules to having a Funner Life,” because they always made me laugh.

Bud glanced at the old, grumpy man, and thought what he should do. Bud is a kid that lived in a foster home until he got picked up by the Amoses’. When he got to the Amoses’, they got mad at him for fighting Todd, the Amoses’ kid, so they made him have to sleep in a shed. When he was sleeping in the shed, he broke through the window and escaped. When he escaped, he eventually ran into Bugs his old best friend. When he was with Bugs they traveled to Hooverville. At Hooverville, Bugs and Bud tried getting onto a train, but Bud didn’t make it to the train because he dropped his papers in his bag, and they were separated again. Eventually, Bud was picked up by a man named Lefty Lewis, and he took him where his dad lived. When they got their Bud saw that his dad looked old and mean, and he didn’t know if he wanted to meet him. Will Bud meet his dad or will he continue to live on his own? ReadĀ Bud, Not Buddy to find out!
